Welcome! I’m Ester, and I am passionate about empowering Christian women to live a purposeful life!

I find myself on a journey of discovery through the Bible… I realise more and more how practical the Bible actually is. It is not merely for meditation, or for spiritual food (both are very important). We can apply the principles and wisdom we find in the Bible to our daily life and in every area of life.

The Bible gives us instructions how we can lead a purposeful and meaningful life. It helps us navigate through difficult seasons. It gives us advice on how to build healthy relationships with each other and how to deal with toxic people in our life. The Bible also speaks a lot about being successful in our career and ministry.

Join me on this journey and let’s learn together how we can use biblical wisdom and lead purposefilled life! Subscribe to my email list to always be kept up to date. You can also connect with me via Instagram.

Spiritual Growth

Here I write about being as disciple of Christ in our day to day life. This includes spiritual disciplines like prayer, personal Bible study and practising intimacy with God. Other topics are how we can grow in our identity in Christ and how we live as children of God.

Purposeful Living

God has given every one of us a purpose in life and he desires that we discover and live in it (Ephesians 2:10). I find it very interesting that the world has picked this up. There are so many motivational speakers, self-development book and coaches nowadays.

I think there is a lot of helpful stuff out there, but sometimes I wonder if we’re seeking our inspiration in the wrong places. In the end, it is God who has given us gifts and wants to give us a vision and goals for our life. It is God who enables us to produce wealth (Deuteronomy 8: 18) and it is his advice, not (merely) human counsel, which causes us to prosper (Psalm 1:1-3).

Words of Encouragement

Let’s be honest:  We all go through difficult seasons in our life. I certainly do. The great men and women in the Bible did. Even Jesus did, when he was in the Garden of Gethsemane.

He understands our pain and fear and knows exactly what we are going through. And we can be totally honest with him, which I am so grateful for.

Whatever is going on in your life, God is with you in the storm. Even if it doesn’t look like it right now.

Jesus in the Old Testament

One of my passions is to discover how Jesus is revealed in the Old Testament.

Sadly, so many Bible-believing Christians dismiss the Old Testament as outdated and abolished. It seems they’re not aware that both Jesus and the Apostles confirmed the validity of the Old Testament (which btw makes up 77% of the Bible).

Everything we learned in Sunday school – things like imputed righteousness, forgiveness of sin, election and redemption – they’re not a New Testament revelation. God already revealed that through his prophets – in the Old Testament.

If this is new to you, be sure to read my posts on Jesus in the Old Testament.
