Welcome! I’m Ester, and I am passionate about empowering Christian women through the word of God.
A few years back I discovered how much I enjoy reading and exploring the Bible. It came out of attending Bible school (which btw I recommend to every one of you to do also) and from simply studying the Bible on my own. Sometimes I would go through the Bible, searching what it says about a specific topic. At other times I would simply go verse by verse through passages and entire books, taking notes, comparing with parallel passages, looking at the original text and so on.
Writing things down, drawing conclusions and putting a structure to what I learned helps me process and make sense of it. And so, most of my blog posts are just that. J (Below you find a brief overview of what I write about.)
So if you want to get updated when I publish new posts, please subscribe to my mailing list (simply scroll down to do that) and connect with me on my Instagram page!
And remember: “Test all things; hold fast what is good.“ (1 Thessalonians 5:21, NKJV) So, please check what you read for yourself 🙂
Here I write about being as disciple of Christ in our day to day life. This includes spiritual disciplines like prayer, personal Bible study and practising intimacy with God. Other topics are how we can grow in our identity in Christ and how we live as children of God.
God has given every one of us a purpose in life and he desires that we discover and live in it (Ephesians 2:10). I find it very interesting that the world has picked this up. There are so many motivational speakers, self-development book and coaches nowadays.
I think there is a lot of helpful stuff out there, but sometimes I wonder if we’re seeking our inspiration in the wrong places. In the end, it is God who has given us gifts and wants to give us a vision and goals for our life. It is God who enables us to produce wealth (Deuteronomy 8: 18) and it is his advice, not (merely) human counsel, which causes us to prosper (Psalm 1:1-3).
Let’s be honest: We all go through difficult seasons in our life. I certainly do. The great men and women in the Bible did. Even Jesus did, when he was in the Garden of Gethsemane.
He understands our pain and fear and knows exactly what we are going through. And we can be totally honest with him, which I am so grateful for.
Whatever is going on in your life, God is with you in the storm. Even if it doesn’t look like it right now.
One of my passions is to discover how Jesus is revealed in the Old Testament.
Sadly, so many Bible-believing Christians dismiss the Old Testament as outdated and abolished. It seems they’re not aware that both Jesus and the Apostles confirmed the validity of the Old Testament (which btw makes up 77% of the Bible).
Everything we learned in Sunday school – things like imputed righteousness, forgiveness of sin, election and redemption – they’re not a New Testament revelation. God already revealed that through his prophets – in the Old Testament.
If this is new to you, be sure to read my posts on Jesus in the Old Testament.
