Good Friday: The true Friday for Future

April 9, 2020January 9, 2021 Ester

Good Friday is the only true “Friday for Future”. It is the only Friday in history that can determine the future of our planet and of all humanity. Good Friday was the day of Jesus’ crucifixion.

Praying Psalm 91

March 15, 2020January 9, 2021 Ester

Psalm 91 is a well-known prayer for protection and deliverance. In times of crisis, there is one place we can always run to: the arms of our Heavenly Father! Where He is, no evil can be also. In His shadow, disaster cannot reach us.

Against all hope: Having faith in hard times

May 5, 2018January 6, 2021 Ester

Faith matters most when when we go through hard times. When we experience dryness and discouragement. When we actually cannot see “the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living”.

Jesus and the Apostles warned us that false teachers and new doctrines would arise and try to confuse us. It is by knowing the Bible well, that we will be able to train our senses and discern “lies that sound like the truth” (Hebrews 5:13-14; Ephesians 4:14).
As far as Queen Esther could remember, God had been absent in her life.
Have you ever heard that the book of Esther is a love story? It’s not. Or that Esther won a beauty contest? She did not.
The prophet Daniel spoke about a ruler who will deceive and seduce many of God’s covenant people. Many scholars believe this prophecy concerns the End Times, when the antichrist will arise and seduce parts of the Church. Whether this is about the antichrist or about an antichrist-figure – be it a person, ideology or movement – Daniel says that only those who know their God will resist deception.
This really hit home recently.
In a world that is getting darker and darker, we need the word more than ever to discern what way to turn and which step to take. The word of God illuminates our path and gives us the security we need to make the next step in the right direction.
